Service Description

A program designed to teach every student introductory, conversational and written Japanese. This course focuses on learning the main writing systems of Japanese, easy and useful vocabulary, basic grammar and pronunciation. This course is completely accessible to everyone, especially to those who are starting to study Japanese and have interest in the Japanese culture. Course objectives: 1)Master one of the three writing systems of Japanese (Hiragana), and get a basic understanding of some of the most important ideograms. 2)Learn how to make easy sentences, in order to be able to have a daily conversation in Japanese. 3)Develop basic listening and reading comprehension skills. 4)Obtain a clearer overview of japanese culture and mindset. 5)Learn the basic structure of the language. Course Outline: Module 1: Japanese language, its complex origin and explanation of the sentence structure, with introduction to Hiragana, the most important writing system. Study of about half of the 46 hiragana syllabs and creation of some daily use words with the studied hiragana with the respective ideograms and personal pronouns. Module 2: Study of the remaining half of the hiragana syllabs, plus some new words made up of them with the respective ideograms. Module 3: Hiragana practice, study of numbers and introduction to the verb "to be" in both affirmative and negative form. Module 4: Study of the week days, seasons and learning how to tell the time. Module 5: The two main categories of verbs and how to conjugate them to the present simple in Keigo, the japanese formal language. Module 6: Introduction to Japanese "particles" wa, ga, ni, e, de, to, o. Module 7: Self-introductionary vocabulary, useful verbs and related grammar. Module 8: Family related vocabulary and animals Module 9: JLPT N5 grammar, expressing a formal request 〜て下さい; expressing the reason why one does something (〜ために), expressing a desire (〜たいです). Module 10: Review and Practice. Discussion of further courses and learning methods.
